Polaris The Show
Polaris is the musical show I created with Dylan Evans Hutchinsons and Alfred Spense, “The Surely Knots” in 2023 for a community initiative with the Camden district of London. Integrating music, theatre, and visual arts, this project celebrates diversity and promotes accessible arts education for all. Collaborating with local musicians, young artists from the Hubert Von Herkomer Foundation, and university students, Polaris exemplifies how creativity can bridge cultural and social divides, inspiring children and young people to engage with the arts.
The Team
Music: Dylan Evans Hutchinsons, Alfred Spense and Garance Paule, Photography: Susanna Hill and Theo Leonowitz, Acting: Maria Garcia, Sophia Lavy, Costumes Da Silva and Corinne Zanini
Costumes
I played a hands-on role in every aspect of the
production, from writing and composing the original music alongside
young artists The Surely Knots to illustrating costumes and collaborating with fashion students in
Italy for their development. The production also involved casting emerging
actors and artists, coordinating rehearsals, and ensuring a safe and inspiring
environment for all participants.
Rehearsals
Decors
Visual arts played a key role, with the creation of set
elements, posters, and costumes, as well as a collaboration with recent
graduates in photography to document the creative process and amplify the
visibility of emerging talents of the Hubert Von Herkomer Art Foundation.
The inaugural performance took place at Map Studio on December 5, 2023, showcasing the collective work of young individuals, including musical and artistic productions crafted during four creative workshops at the London Mosaic School. These workshops introduced children to theatrical and three-dimensional storytelling, exploring meaningful themes such as solidarity, mental health, and climate change.
