Polaris Does Sway
Meet Cosmo, a cosmologist who awakens one morning to an extraordinary sight—a star shining brightly in daylight. This is no ordinary star, but Polaris, the Northern Star, who has mysteriously fallen from the sky and landed on Earth, in a bay along the coast of France. Lost and desperate to return to her celestial home, Polaris seeks the help of Cosmo, setting them both on an uncharted path back to the heavens.
Polaris Does Sway is a love letter to vintage filmmaking, drawing inspiration from the playful spirit of Charlie Chaplin and the imaginative worlds of Georges Méliès. The film’s silent format evokes the charm of analog fantasy, where mime, movement, and a rich voice-over narrate the story. Every aspect of the film—from the hand-painted props and costumes to the handmade decors—reflects a dedication to authenticity. Shot on a mix of VHS and 16mm film, the result is a textured, multidimensional experience.
